Ag in the Classroom has a wonderful idea for you! Hydroponics! We teach a lesson about building your own hydroponics at home with cleaned plastic take out food containers or soda bottles!
Follow the paper instructions or watch the video below to make your own hydroponics system. Don't worry if you do not have the coconut coir or plant nutrients; just use soil instead!
As you make it, think about the following questions:
Where would it be a good place to grow a hydroponics system? Where there is a lot of water? No water? No soil? Lots of soil?
What would be the best thing to plant in a hydroponics system like the one you made? Something that grows really big, or something that stays small?
